Following a restructure of the current finance team, Hutcheon Mearns are supporting a successful, private equity-backed business looking to add a Regional Financial Controller to the growing finance team. The Group operates in the UK, North America and UAE. This is a great opportunity for a driven individual, who is currently operating as a Finance Manager / Junior Financial Controller, looking to step up to the next level in their accountancy career. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the role will be varied incredibly varied. There is a clear path for career development in this organisation.

KEY DUTIES

  • Coordinate monthly management financial reporting for legal entities under your control, personally taking on the most technically demanding and subjective elements of this process
  • Line management for a UK team of four Finance Assistants & Management Accountants, including review of their work and assisting in their career development
  • Work closely with the Head of Finance as part of the management team to ensure the business is focused on budgeted numbers and delivering business objectives from a finance perspective
  • Assist in the monitoring of KPIs and take appropriate action to drive improvement
  • Drive   continuous   improvement   of accounting   systems (Microsoft 365) and internal control, including documentation of local processes
  • Manage the statutory audit process, and liaise with the auditor for legal entities under your control
  • Take ownership of the forecast and planning schedule for finance and operational teams, communicate requirements clearly and concisely to the organisation on a timely basis and drive delivery schedule
  • Contribute to regular and ad-hoc meetings as required
  • Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Management within the timeframe specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements provided the instruction is reasonable and you are capable and deemed competent to fulfil these

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Qualified Accountant (CA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)
  • Management accounting and forecasting experience
  • Familiar with MS Packages systems such as Microsoft 365, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral and written communicator with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally
  • Ability to knowledge share (transmit and receive lessons learned) with other colleagues
  • Effective team building, motivation, and leadership skills
  • Effective decision-maker with demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements
