Tax Manager - Mixed or Corporate

Location: Glasgow City Centre (with hybrid working)
Contract: Full-time

We are working with a highly regarded independent accountancy practice in Scotland that is entering an exciting phase of growth. With a strong reputation for specialist services and client care, this firm places collaboration, forward thinking, and integrity at the heart of everything they do.

As part of their ongoing expansion, they are seeking a Mixed Tax Manager to join their busy tax team in Glasgow. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious tax professional who enjoys a mix of compliance and advisory work and wants to take on a broad, challenging portfolio across both corporate and personal tax.


The Role

You’ll join a growing team of tax specialists, working with a diverse client base spanning sole traders, partnerships, directors, trusts, estates, high-net-worth individuals, and corporate groups. The firm advises clients across multiple sectors including healthcare, professional services, farming, and owner-managed businesses.

The scope of work is broad and engaging, covering:

  • Personal and corporate tax compliance

  • Business advisory services

  • Inheritance tax and capital gains planning

  • Remuneration planning

  • R&D claims

  • Structural and transactional advice

This role combines technical delivery with team leadership and client engagement, providing an excellent platform for career progression.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of both personal and corporate tax clients

  • Review tax work and provide technical guidance to clients and team members

  • Supervise and support junior colleagues, delegating effectively and ensuring deadlines are met

  • Oversee completion of compliance work to a high standard

  • Contribute to departmental management including staff appraisals and resource planning

  • Provide coaching and training for developing team members

  • Assist with business development and practice growth initiatives

  • Stay technically up to date and apply knowledge to complex client cases


About You

  • CTA / ATT / ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)

  • Strong experience across both personal and corporate tax within practice

  • Excellent technical knowledge with the confidence to advise clients directly

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

  • Leadership and people management experience

  • Clear communicator with a collaborative and proactive approach
