Hutcheon Mearns is delighted to be engaged on the role of Senior Finance Manager for a boutique client based in Edinburgh. The role is a newly-created post as a result of growth and will deputise to the Head of Finance. It is offering a base salary of £60,000 - £70,000 (DOE) + bonus and benefits. 

The Opportunity

The Senior Finance Manager will report into the Head of Finance and will be responsible for the overall financial management of the business. This will include monthly and annual reporting, financial planning and forecasting, transactional finance and ledger management, tax and compliance and finance systems and process development. As Senior Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the success of the business and will have ample opportunity to develop within the business - taking on more responsibility and delegating tasks to your team as they too develop. 

Your role will include: 

  • Production of monthly management accounts 
  • Management of transactional finance function (AP/AR/Banking) 
  • Budgeting and forecasting including variance analysis 
  • Treasury management and cash forecasting 
  • Statutory accounts preparation and annual audit management 
  • Tax and compliance
  • Lead on improvement projects within finance

Background and Experience

Our client is keen to speak to individuals with the following profile: 

  • Qualified accountant with a recognised professional accountancy body 
  • Experience of a similar Finance Manager role in an SME business 
  • Strong experience of financial management including managing small teams 
  • Strong knowledge of FRS102 and experience of preparing statutory accounts
  • A track record of process improvement
  • Ability to influence and build relationships with project managers and other non-finance stakeholders
