Senior Finance Business Partner

Hutcheon Mearns are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a large global business in Dundee for a permanent Senior Finance Business Partner to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Accountant with strong commercial acumen to make a real impact to the business by playing the lead finance role in Dundee; supporting decision-making and acting as the point of contact between the off-site finance team and on-site budget holders. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days a week in the office in Dundee. 

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Finance Business Partnering, you will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of the Dundee operation. This includes leading the annual budget planning, developing cost models for new initiatives , overseeing capital investment cases and ensuring robust financial governance. You will collaborate closely with finance teams across the business in multiple locations including the shared service centre and head office, ensuring alignment with wider business strategy and operational goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitor actual expenditure against budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities, potential overspends & areas requiring additional investment
  • Collaborate heavily with all finance teams & local budget holders to ensure accurate accounting of associated costs with an ability to engage and influence stakeholders
  • Provide clear financial justifications for all new initiatives within the Dundee site to ensure complete cost transparency
  • Ensure the Dundee site has sufficient budget allocation at the start of each financial year to support operations and deliver planned changes
  • Build and maintain stakeholder understanding of the Dundee site's role and value to the business, supporting informed financial decision-making throughout the year
  • Contribute to the development & execution of the Dundee site's strategy and operational plans
  • Ensure full compliance with all corporate & legal processes, meeting required deadlines

The Candidate

You will ideally be a fully Qualified  Accountant (although qualified by experience may be considered) with demonstrable experience working within a large complex business, ideally with multiple sites. You will have strong business partnering experience with an ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. You will have financial planning & analysis experience with an ability to present financial data in a meaningful and impactful way. You will be a creative and resilient individual with strong problem solving skills.

Remuneration and Benefits

  • Salary up to £73,000 depending on experience
  • Annual bonus up to 20%
  • 34 days annual leave
