Hutcheon Mearns have been engaged by a local IT and Telecoms business to source a Finance Manager on a staff basis. This part time role (3-4 days per week) will be based in Dyce with hybrid/flexible working. Our client is a growing SME operating across Scotland. This presents an excellent opportunity for candidates currently in a Finance Manager role or those taking a step-up.
This is a hands-on role where you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day accounting activities, preparing monthly management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, monitoring cashflow and managing a small team. To be considered, you will have experience working as an Accountant or Finance Manager in an SME environment. Our client is offering a competitive salary and benefits package.
The Opportunity
- Oversee the ongoing maintenance of the day-to-day accounting activities
- Supervise small accounts team
- Prepare monthly management accounts
- Ensure payroll is accurate and records are maintained
- Support management in the accurate production of budgets
- Reconcile accounts including receivable and payable
- Ensure cashflow is utilised properly and protect reserves
- Audit financial information for inconsistencies
- Provide tax planning strategies in accordance with existing legislation
- Create financial forecasts and analyse risk
Background and Experience
- Experienced Accountant/Finance Manager
- Experience of working in an SME or similar environment
- Ability to work to deadlines with high levels of accuracy
- Excellent communication skills
- Good Microsoft Excel skills
