Hutcheon Mearns are delighted to support a fast-growing, technology-led business in Dundee to recruit for a Management Accountant to join their team. This dynamic and innovative organisation are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join the business on a temporary basis for an initial 3-month period with the possibility of a longer term or permanent role for the right person. This is an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Accountant with strong commercial acumen and a hands-on approach to make a real impact in a business that is scaling rapidly both in the UK and internationally. This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days per week working in the office in Dundee.
The Opportunity
You will report to the Finance Manager and will take ownership if the month-end close process across UK and US entities. This will include the production of management accounts, cash projections, budget variance analysis and providing key insights for senior stakeholders. You will also support the team to refine reporting processes, manage key reconciliations and support external reporting cycles.
Key responsibilities may include;
- Co-ordination of UK and US month-end close process with virtual finance partners
- Preparation of monthly management accounts with insightful variance analysis
- Supporting budget and forecast cycles at cost centre level
- Production of margin analysis, reconciliations and revenue tracking
- Overseeing billing, credit control and payables processes
- Ensuring compliance with internal governance and risk processes
The Candidate
You will ideally be a fully Qualified Accountant (or equivalent experience) with demonstrable experience in producing management accounts in fast growing businesses. You should be confident working independently, thrive in a hands-on environment and have excellent Excel skills and financial analysis skills. You will be available to commence this contract as soon as possible to allow for handover.
