Hutcheon Mearns is delighted to be exclusively engaged by a well-known business to appoint a Management Accountant based in South Lanarkshire that offers a salary of £45,000 to £50,000 per annum plus benefits.
Our client is looking to speak to recently qualified accountants holding certifications from (ICAS, ACCA, CIMA etc). They are equally open to engaging with individuals at the finalist stage of their certification process from either a practise or industry background.
Position Overview
This position will directly report to the Group Financial Controller and will work closely with both operational and commercial finance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing monthly management reports including balance sheet, profit & loss and cashflow in line with relevant financial frameworks. Moreover, you will work collaboratively with the Group Financial Controller to implement a robust controls environment with efficient processes around month end and annual reporting.
Duties will encompass, but are not limited to:
- Production and presentation of monthly management accounts including analysis and commentary
- Support the preparation of annual accounts under FRS 102
- Support the statutory audit process and reviews, acting as a key liaison to external parties as required
- Preparing and reconciling balance sheets and Profit and Loss (P&L) statements
- Prepare monthly cashflow reporting
- Supporting with the annual budget process
- Supporting with finance transformation initiatives as required
- Ad-hoc duties as required
Person Profile
To be considered for the role, you will:
- Be a finalist or qualified accountant with ICAS, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
- Have experience of preparing management accounts from end-to-end (desirable)
- Have exceptional communication and cross-collaboration skills
- Be highly proficiency in operating finance systems and MS Excel
- Have a process improvement mindset with a track record of impacting positive change
N.B. first time movers from practice will be considered.
