Hutcheon Mearns are supporting a large complex group to recruit a Lead Finance Analyst to join their team in Dundee. A global learning and development service provider, with a world-renowned product portfolio and clients including some of the world's largest blue-chip organisations.

Enabling the Global Finance Team to support the business and operate effectively, the Lead Financial Analyst must be a collaborative and highly skilled finance professional. Duties will include reviewing and reporting the Sales Performance and functional spend, having a key partnering relationship with the Executive Team and the senior leadership community.

Additionally, this role will assist with monthly management accounts, and provide support during the monthly/annual planning, forecasting and budgetary cycle, ensuring minimal disruption to monthly business-as-usual reporting and related activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with the Executive team and senior leadership community on Global revenue performance, with a focus on geographical, channel, Client and Account Manager analysis, as well as detailed cost analysis
  • Drive cost metrics and KPIs, with a specific focus on functional spend
  • Continuous improvement of variance/trend analysis, with associated corrective action planning
  • Drive revenue forecasting as an element of the monthly/quarterly/rolling group forecast process
  • Trusted adviser to the Executive team on key functional spend, including dashboard implementation, KPI analysis and staff cost forecasting
  • Continuous improvement of variance/trend analysis, with associated corrective action planning
  • Drive functional cost forecasting as an element of the monthly/quarterly/rolling group forecast process
  • Drive the reduction of all non-value-add activity
  • Document and formalise finance processes, controls, timetables and responsibilities.
  • Help drive the budget process, ensuring key targets are met in line with the business planning timetable
  • Partner across the business to assist in the creation of the monthly management accounts
  • Contribute to Strategic Programme initiatives as a subject matter expert as required

Experience and Skills:

  • A professional Accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ICAS or equivalent), or qualified through experience. 
  • A good track record of financial business partnering with executive teams and senior management.
  • Strong Excel skills (complex formulas).
  • Extensive Finance systems experience would be advantageous – Jet Reporting, PowerBI, Microsoft
  • Navision, Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Strong experience of working in a customer-focussed environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to achieve buy-in from various stakeholders and collaboration of other team members.
  • The ability to consume/manipulate large amounts of information and articulate back to stakeholders in a clear manner
  • Problem-solving, questioning mindset always thinking about continuous improvement.
  • Organised and able to plan to ensure delivery within agreed timeframes.
