Hutcheon Mearns are delighted to be recruiting for an Interim Finance Manager to fulfil a Fixed Term contract (12 months - on staff payroll) in Perth.  Working with an organisation that strives for excellence, innovation and collaboration in its sector, you will support the Director of Finance in this newly created role, to lead and drive the finance team.  You will work to enhance the controls, processes and systems of the Finance function with customer service at the heart of the role.  

The Opportunity 

Managing a small team of finance staff, you will lead the day to day activities of the finance function, pro-actively seeking continuous improvement in every aspect of the function.  Your role will support the development of the finance function and will involve; 

  • Preparation of statutory financial statements, budget preparation, forecasting and management reporting 
  • Acting as the key liaison point for day to day enquiries from external auditors to ensure a smooth running audit process 
  • Developing strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing insight and analysis in finance domain
  • Supporting the development of the finance systems, processes and controls - identifying and managing business risks 
  • Supporting the Director of Finance to deliver ad-hoc finance projects

Background and Experience 

You will be a fully Qualified (ACCA/CA/CIMA) Accountant or Qualified by Experience with a proven track record at this level.  You will ideally have operated in a multi-entity organisation and be comfortable working with large data sets.   A high level of proficiency using Microsoft Excel will be required and an experience of continuous improvement projects, would be highly desirable.

You will have a pro-active mindset and an ability to manage your own workload while ensuring the delegation of tasks within the department.  Experience in preparing statutory and management accounts is essential as is a customer-focussed mentality when it comes to presenting financial information to key stakeholders.

Remuneration and benefits 

  • £48,000 - £52,000
  • 35 hour working week - Core hours 8.45am - 4.45pm, Monday to Friday (alternative requests will be considered)
