The successful candidate will be responsible for all finance related matters and will support the Managing Director and other Heads of Department in the day to day management of the company, and the formulation and implementation of the overall strategic long term business plan.
The opportunity
- Manage the finance team in the execution of their duties
- Working as part of the senior management team to co-ordinate and efficiently manage all business activities and strategic planning/decision making
- Managing the budget and rolling forecast process with a focus on quality of information, including budget setting, performing periodic reviews and proper detailed deviation analysis with advice and corrective actions where appropriate
- Providing general financial advice, information, and support to line managers/employees within the company
- Review, control and manage the businesses cost base, developing cost models with respective departments to create baseline of measurement
- Oversee and support in the preparation of the consolidated monthly management accounts, in addition to performing detailed reviews of periodic results
- Prepare and lead monthly and periodic result reviews with Head Office
- Ensuring timely and accurate periodic and year-end reporting under IAS, IFRS and UK GAAP
- Cashflow and NWC management and improvement initiatives in this area
- Risk management and in particular mitigating/hedging of foreign exchange rate risks.
- Drive the development of the local IT system, take a leading role in the implementation of a new ERP system (MS Dynamics 365)
- Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ensuring an adequate Internal Control System and efficient Policies and Procedures
- Overseeing internal and external legal and financial audits
- Financial management of high value contracts
- Ensuring adequate coverage of business risks in accordance with corporate guidelines
- Mentoring, directing, motivating, supervising and monitoring all members of the allocated teams to ensure high performance levels are attained
- Being the driving force behind initiating and implementing efficiency and process improvements within the Finance and Controlling function, in addition to contributing to and supporting similar initiatives in the overall organisation (LEAN)
Background and Experience
- Qualified Accountant
- Experience with working in complex engineering service or project organisation (or similar) at senior level.
- Experience and open-minded attitude to change and change management
- Knowledge of IFRS
- ERP experience (SAP or MS Dynamics)
- Strong problem solving and organisational skills and proven ability to prioritise responsibilities and processes
- Strong Leadership and commercial knowledge
- Excellent analytical skills
- Effective and confident communicator
- Ability to coordinate and manage multiple improvement initiatives at once
- Team player at all levels, self-starter with a hands-on attitude
