Hutcheon Mearns is supporting a dynamic and growing organisation in the manufacturing sector, seeking a Group Financial Controller for their Dundee business. A £60mill t/o group with international entities and diverse customer base, this organisation is on a path to continued growth through acquisition.
The Opportunity
This newly created role offers the opportunity to lead financial reporting, compliance, and oversee financial operations. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will ensure the integrity of financial reporting, manage financial statements, co-ordinate audits and ensure compliance with local regulations.
Key responsibilities;
- Oversee, and prepare consolidated financial reporting across multiple entities (UK and international), ensuring IFRS compliance
- Ensure timely, accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports providing performance insights
- Manage statutory reporting, tax filings, VAT returns and liaise with external auditors
- Lead financial operations, ensuring strong controls and efficient month-end/year-end processes
- Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow monitoring, providing recommendations for performance improvement
- Drive process enhancements, implementing improved financial processes and reporting tools
- Lead, mentor and develop a small finance team, fostering a high-performance culture

About You
This role is ideal for a Qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with experience in financial accounting within a group environment. Prior exposure to multi-national businesses is highly desirable, along with strong technical accounting skills, particularly in IFRS reporting standards. Knowledge of tax regulations, VAT and corporate tax compliance would also be advantageous.
This opportunity may suit a candidate transitioning from professional practice to industry, bringing valuable experience in accounts preparation of audit for group structures.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively to key stakeholders. A pro-active problem solver with excellent attention to detail, you will be adept at managing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong organisational and interpersonal skills, coupled with a passion for continuous improvement and driving change, will be key to success in this role.
