Position Overview
The Group Finance Manager is a newly created role and will report into the Group Financial Controller. It is a critical addition to the finance function to ensure the effective management of the transactional finance function, as well as actioning accurately and timely internal and external reporting cycles.
As Group Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the creation and management of an efficient shared services function - encompassing accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, treasury, and payroll. This will involve managing a team of transactional finance staff – each with different specialisms - ensuring they fully understand processes and their role within the finance infrastructure and wider business. Moreover, you will be responsible for running the month end, producing accurate and detailed monthly management accounts and supporting the year end, statutory accounts and audit process as required. Finally, you will be expected to develop strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders (detailed above) and will be involved in finance transformation projects to ensure processes, systems, and controls remain fit for purpose.
Duties include:
- Management of a talented finance team, supporting and developing as necessary
- Production of monthly management accounts including analysis and variance
- Run and manage period ends including month end and year end
- Supporting the statutory accounts and audit process
- Supporting cashflow management and forecasting
- Creation and leadership of the shared service centre to drive all key financial operations of the business
- Managed shared services functions including accounts payable, receivable, payroll and banking
- Management of Insurances through Broker
- Ensure counting and management information systems are appropriate, accurate, and effective
- Support team needs and coordinate cross-functional efforts as needed to ensure efficient business processes are in place
- Good understanding of active projects
- Support finance talent development and succession planning initiatives
Person Profile
To be considered for the role, you will:
- Be a qualified accountant with 3 years post qualified experience
- Have experience working in a similar financial management and reporting role
- Have strong leadership skills and a track record of managing effective teams
- Have experience designing, documenting, and developing good finance processes
- Have experience operating ERP systems to a high level
- Have excellent communication skills and an ability to form strong, cross-functional relationships
- Have strong MS Excel skills and an ability to handle large datasets
Salary, Benefits & Location
The Group Finance Manager role is offering the following package:
- £60,000 - £65,000
- Discretionary bonus
- Flexible approach to office time (hybrid working)
