Global Lead -  Order to Cash – Glasgow (Hybrid, 3 days per week)

Hutcheon Mearns is delighted to be working with our key client in their search for  Global Head of Order to Cash. With operations spanning multiple continents, this is a unique opportunity to lead a global function from the company’s Glasgow office.

Reporting directly to the Global Head of Finance, this senior leadership role will be central to shaping and executing the global Order to Cash (O2C) strategy, driving results aligned with financial targets, and placing a particular emphasis on cash management and DSO performance.

Scope of the Role:

  • Provide strategic direction and operational leadership for the global end-to-end O2C process.

  • Define, implement, and continuously improve standardised processes across all regions, ensuring consistency in billing, collections, cash application, reporting, and client interactions.

  • Drive efficiencies through best practice, process optimisation, and adoption of relevant industry innovations.

  • Lead the measurement and analysis of key O2C metrics, ensuring compliance with KPIs, SLAs, and benchmarking performance against industry leaders.

  • Partner with senior financial and operational leaders on working capital and collections strategies.

  • Provide leadership on planning, staffing, budgeting, and goal setting, while cultivating an environment of productivity, collaboration, and professional development.

  • Oversee third-party outsourcing partnerships where appropriate, ensuring performance and alignment with business objectives.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven expertise in the end-to-end credit, collections, and cash cycle, ideally at a global or multi-regional level.

  • Extensive leadership experience with the ability to engage, motivate, and influence stakeholders, teams, and clients.

  • Strong organisational, analytical, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, with experience of negotiation at senior levels.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and previous experience working with outsourced service providers will be highly advantageous.

  • Degree-educated (or equivalent experience) with a track record of delivering measurable improvements in O2C functions.
