Hutcheon Mearns are delighted to be working with a global oil service company to hire a Financial Accountant on a full time, staff basis. You will be based in Westhill with hybrid working, flexible hours and an excellent benefits package.

The Opportunity

As a key member of the Finance Resource Centre team the position will be responsible for the financial reporting of a specific region. The Financial Reporting Accountant will generate financial reports and financial statements for key stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of annual statutory financial statements and management accounts
  • Provide explanations and information to external auditors related to the Group financial statements and entity statutory financial statements
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards, applicable local accounting standards, local legislation and group accounting policies
  • Support the Internal Audit process, providing explanations and information as required
  • Compliance with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements, ensuring financial controls are addressed within deadlines set
  • Preparation of reconciliations and analysis with relevant and appropriate back up and critical analysis of the balances in significant entities
  • Assist with the review of Associate Accountants’ work

Background and Experience

You will be a qualified or nearly qualified accountant with audit and accounts preparation experience. You will have experience of IFRS and FRS 1010 statutory accounts preparation, financial controls and the audit process. You will be a self-motivated problem solver with a proven track record of quality analysis and analytical review. Experience within a large multinational business would be beneficial but is not required.
