This is a diverse and challenging 12 month contract role, which offers excellent opportunities to develop accounts preparation and analytical review experience for applicants interested in legal entity statutory accounting within a large company. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a logical approach to problem solving. We are looking for demonstrable experience and knowledge of IFRS, FRS 101 statutory accounts preparation, financial controls environment, and audit processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
STATUTORY ACCOUNTS
- Preparation of statutory financial statements and quarterly management accounts.
- Liaise and supply external auditors’ information regarding year-end consolidated financial statements and statutory financial statements.
- Demonstrate a detailed understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards, applicable local accounting standards, local legislation, reporting disclosures and group accounting policies, ensuring they are applied and upheld.
FINANCIAL CONTROLS
- Compliance with monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements, ensuring financial controls are addressed within deadlines set.
- Preparation of reconciliations and analysis with relevant and appropriate back up and critical analysis of the balances in significant entities and assistance with review of Associate Accountants work.
- Assistance in testing internal controls on a monthly basis.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Helping to establish best practice, standardisation and ways of working for all legal entities.
- Pro-active participation in/lead the coaching activities to the Associate Accountants within the team.
- Identify areas of process improvements and propose potential solutions.
- Work closely with the companys’ finance community to resolve any financial reporting queries in a timely and effective manner.
- Provide training, where required, on standard ways of working to colleagues within the companys’ finance community.
- Other ad hoc tasks and projects as required.
ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES:
- The candidate should be at the final stages of their professional accountancy qualifications or a fully qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or international equivalent.
- Educated to degree level in a relevant subject area (Finance/ Accounting / Business).
- Audit and accounts preparation experience.
- Good working knowledge of IFRS.
- Relevant experience working within a similar environment.
- Proven track record of good quality accurate analysis and analytical review.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
- Experience working with and knowledge of SAP.
- A focus on high quality outputs, first time right attitude, with good self-review skills (deliver quality products & services).

DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES:
- Understanding of chart of accounts and legal entity reporting structures.
- Experience working with BFC (Business Objects Financial Consolidation).
