Hutcheon Mearns is delighted to be exclusively engaged by a high growth, private equity backed business on the role of Financial Planning & Analysis Lead (FP&A Lead).
Position profile
As FP&A Lead, will play a crucial role in driving financial performance through strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. Reporting to the CFO, you will provide insightful financial analysis, support decision-making processes, and contribute to the achievement of corporate goals. You will also play a key role in supporting with private equity investor and bank requests as well as M&A planning and analysis. The position will be working alongside a team that covers off all areas of a busy & committed Finance Department, with teammates based across the globe.  
 
Duties:
  • Enhance and refine financial models to aid in reporting and long-term strategic planning.
  • Generate forecasts, identify discrepancies, and provide detailed explanations and insights.
  • Perform thorough analysis of the business and its market, pinpointing trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Compile detailed reports for management, emphasising key performance indicators and financial metrics.
  • Work closely with accounting and operations teams to provide valuable insights.
  • Prepare monthly and ad hoc reports for the board.
  • Handle ad hoc financial requests from Private Equity Investors.
  • Spearhead the development of reporting systems within the Group to enhance analysis and forecast accuracy.
  • Analyse capital expenditure business cases and ROI.
  • Oversee the annual budget and reforecasting process.
  • Prepare financial models for business strategy plans for expansion into new locations/territories.
  • Assist the CFO with Mergers & Acquisitions and Financial Due Diligence activities.
Person profile
  • Qualified accountant (not essential) 
  • Experience of working in senior FP&A role(s)
  • Strong experience and knowledge of financial modelling and analysis
  • Strong track record of business partnering with senior stakeholders and non-finance
  • Strong ability to present data and findings in a clear and digestible manner
  • Experience of using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau etc.
