Hutcheon Mearns are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a large manufacturing business based in central Angus for a permanent Financial Controller to join and lead their finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Accountant who is looking to take the next step in their career in financial control and make a real impact to the business. You will ensure accurate and timely production of financial information while working closely with the Managing Director to contribute to company strategy. This is a full time office based position.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will manage all the accounting functions of the company. Leading the finance team, you will ensure the production of accurate financial information, to all levels of the business to help in the aid of business decisions, commercial transactions and special deals. You will also be involved in various projects including process & system streamlining & improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the day to day function of accounting operations with the assistance of an established team
- Monthly management reporting including variance analysis
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Year-end financial reporting including management of the annual audit
- Cash management including cash forecasting
- Ensuring an effective credit control process
- Finance business partnering with various internal & external stakeholders
- Involvement in the preparation of CAPEX proposals
- Ensuring financial and tax compliance
The Candidate
You will be a Qualified Accountant (ICAS/CIMA/ACCA etc) with strong commercial acumen who has significant experience in both management and financial accounting. You will have experience within staff supervision or management and be able to liaise with individuals at all levels of the business. You will be a results orientated Accountant who is comfortable taking a lead finance position with the support of the Managing Director. You will have the ability to contribute to process & system implementation and improvement and company strategy.
Renumeration and Benefits
- Salary of £60,000 - £70,000 depending on experience
- Annual bonus up to 10%
