Hutcheon Mearns are working with this exclusive, Angus based,  client to add a new Financial Accountant to the team. The role can be hybrid working or fully remote.

An established manufacturer with global reach the business continues to grow organically and by acquisitions. Finance is a key department providing accurate and timely information and business partnering.

This is an ideal role for a newly qualified accountant making their first step into industry, or an accountant already working within industry to further develop their career.  Reporting to the Financial Controller with responsibilities for a number of areas you will be expected to quickly develop an understanding of and skills in using the ERP system and financial processes. A key part of the role is to drive process improvements and system automation. The company is invested in the use of technology, data analytics and continuous improvement. This role will be highly visible to the senior management team. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying areas of process improvement and leading projects to deliver change.
  • Automating tasks through the use of technology.
  • Preparing financial analysis at month-end for delivery to the UK board.
  • Business partnering within the UK operation.
  • Treasury management.
  • Accounts receivable management
  • Being the key point of contract for HMRC for all customs and excise activities.
  • Involvement in the annual audit and statutory accounts preparation.

Skills and Abilities

  • Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, CA, ACCA)
  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • A willingness to learn, ask questions and take proactive actions.
  • Excellent IT skills, specifically in Excel
