Hutcheon Mearns are working with a successful and growing SME business to source a Finance Manager to oversee all aspects of their finance team. This is a key role which would be part of the management team. The Opportunity:

  • Manage a team of 3 people
  • Prepare and report on monthly management accounts
  • Undertake an analytical review of the Financial Performance on a quarterly basis
  • Prepare draft statutory accounts for auditors
  • Liaise with auditors to provide all the information that they require to carry out the audit
  • Prepare the annual budget
  • Update forecast out-turn for current year for contractor and overhead changes
  • Reconcile key control accounts – sales ledger accruals, expenses recharge, purchase ledger accruals, holiday pay accrual and net wages control
  • Prepare Monthly KPI schedule
  • Prepare a weekly cashflow forecast for the following 13 weeks
  • Reconcile and submit the monthly PAYE/NI payment
  • Prepare, reconcile, and submit the quarterly VAT return electronically
  • Liaise with Tax Accountants on calculation of Corporation Tax and pay as instructed by Group
  • Assist Operations with any finance-related queries

Background and Experience

  • Accountancy qualification essential – CA, ACCA, or CIMA
  • Experience of managing a finance team
  • Capacity to design and implement financial systems and reporting that align with the organisation’s overall business strategy
  • Ability to analyse financial issues that arise and to provide sound and effective solutions
  • Ability to think strategically utilising business acumen
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
