Hutcheon Mearns are working with a successful and growing SME business to source a Finance Manager to oversee all aspects of their finance team. This is a key role which would be part of the management team. The Opportunity:
- Manage a team of 3 people
- Prepare and report on monthly management accounts
- Undertake an analytical review of the Financial Performance on a quarterly basis
- Prepare draft statutory accounts for auditors
- Liaise with auditors to provide all the information that they require to carry out the audit
- Prepare the annual budget
- Update forecast out-turn for current year for contractor and overhead changes
- Reconcile key control accounts – sales ledger accruals, expenses recharge, purchase ledger accruals, holiday pay accrual and net wages control
- Prepare Monthly KPI schedule
- Prepare a weekly cashflow forecast for the following 13 weeks
- Reconcile and submit the monthly PAYE/NI payment
- Prepare, reconcile, and submit the quarterly VAT return electronically
- Liaise with Tax Accountants on calculation of Corporation Tax and pay as instructed by Group
- Assist Operations with any finance-related queries
Background and Experience
- Accountancy qualification essential – CA, ACCA, or CIMA
- Experience of managing a finance team
- Capacity to design and implement financial systems and reporting that align with the organisation’s overall business strategy
- Ability to analyse financial issues that arise and to provide sound and effective solutions
- Ability to think strategically utilising business acumen
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
