Hutcheon Mearns is working, on an exclusive basis, with an organisation head-quartered in Fife to recruit a Finance Manager, as number two to the Group Finance Director. This group is going through sustained growth and is seeking a Qualified Accountant with a proven track record of balance sheet responsibility, to lead the day to day operations of the finance team. You will join a multi-divisional group and will be an integral part of the journey to enhance controls, processes and systems within the organisation. The company headquarters is in Fife and travel to other sites across Scotland will be necessary to ensure visibility within the business.
The Opportunity
As number two to the Group Finance Director, you will work to build a high performing finance function, ensuring strong controls and processes. You will work closely with key stakeholders to support commercial decision making by providing robust and timely financial reporting and management information. Your responsibilities will include;
- Full Balance Sheet Ownership: Oversee all aspects of the balance sheet and ensure accurate financial reporting
- Budget Management: Lead the budgeting process, including forecasting, analysis and variance reporting
- Team Management: Supervise and mentor a small finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment
- Hands-on approach: Exhibit a pro-active, "can -do" attitude, being actively involved in daily financial operations
- High Excel proficiency: Utilise a high standard of Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, management reports and use BI tools for insightful analysis
- Financial Controls and processes: Ensuring robust financial controls and processes are in place to ensure the integrity of financial information
- Payroll Management: Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with regulations
- Use of Sage 200: Manage financial systems and processes using Sage 200
The Candidate
The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/CA) with experience of multi-division or group accounting. You will have strong understanding of budgeting processes and financial control and a high level of competence using Excel and financial reporting tools. Knowledge of payroll management responsibilities would be desirable and experience in a fast-paced production sector, would be highly advantageous.
