Hutcheon Mearns have been engaged by our private equity backed client to source a Finance Manager on a full time, staff basis. This role is non oil and gas and will be based in Dyce on a hybrid basis. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the accounting function, supervising a small team and providing support to Senior Management.

To be considered you will be currently working as a Finance Manager or looking to take a step up into a managerial role. Candidates taking their first step from practice are also encouraged to apply.

The Opportunity 

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Aberdeen Finance team responsible for ensuring information is correctly captured and presented, managing all team queries
  • Completing month end procedures and understanding the throughput from the Manufacturing division
  • Review of month end – thorough review of finance teams work and processing, analysing, and questioning data to ensure correct and nothing is omitted, and the Balance Sheet is supported
  • Analysing trends and data in various areas and comparing results to budget and investigating reasons for variances
  • Hold monthly P&L reviews with Director, Head of Finance and regional managers
  • Review and authorise weekly payments
  • Manage the accounting systems to ensure financial integrity is maintained, reported on, and developed to meet the needs of all stakeholders
  • Assist with the production of statutory reports and annual budgets. Review and provide support to the various budget holders
  • Manage the annual audit process
  • Support on project work
  • Handle queries from internal and external stakeholders ensuring they are resolved in an adequate and timely fashion
  • Motivate, manage, and develop the Aberdeen based finance team

Background and Experience

  • CA/ACCA/CIMA qualification or QBE
  • Practice or industry experience
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Previous staff management experience
  • Flexibility and adaptability to juggle multiple tasks
  • Creativity to think laterally in problem solving
  • Good Excel skills
