Hutcheon Mearns are looking to recruit an ambitious finance professional to join our growing Insights team.  The Insights service line focuses on business intelligence, financial process improvement and automation.  Due to increasing client demand, we are looking for a determined and professional individual to help bring the benefits of our service line to a growing audience.  Working within our Insights team of corporate data automation and transformation specialists, you will deliver intelligence projects to a varied client-base, as well as assisting with the support requirements of existing clients.

If you are interested in being at the forefront of your field, working within a team who achieve innovative outcomes for clients, this could be the ideal job opportunity for you.  As an Accountant and a Business Intelligence reporting specialist, you will combine your technical accounting knowledge with an ability to translate reporting requirements into tangible reporting solutions.

The ideal candidate

The successful candidate will be an Accountant (either Qualified or Qualified By Experience) with at least two years' experience and will also have experience using Microsoft Power BI (or a similar business intelligence tool).  Strong data modelling skills, ETL skills and DAX knowledge are all key for this role. Strong knowledge of key financial processes including budgeting, forecasting and month-end reporting are also essential for this position.  Face to face client meetings will be part of this role, so while we are happy to consider individuals working on a hybrid working basis, you must be able to regularly attend meetings in Aberdeen/Dundee/Central Belt.

A desirable candidate will also be an Advanced user of Microsoft Excel, including the development of Visual Basic macros; however this is not essential.  Experience in multiple finance systems would also be advantageous.  The ideal candidate will have a strong problem solving mentality, ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload.

Hutcheon Mearns are an incredibly flexible employer and will consider full-time and part-time candidates for this role.  We offer a highly competitive remuneration and benefits package and the opportunity to develop your experience working with a varied portfolio of clients on data automation and process improvement projects that are game-changing for organisations.

Hutcheon Mearns have offices in Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh and will consider candidates who could be based from either office.  We offer hybrid working in addition to vibrant, fully-equipped and modern office spaces.
