Head of Finance

The Opportunity 

This is a critical role within the business, ensuring financial stability and supporting strategic initiatives.  The Head of Finance will take ownership of treasury management, budgeting and forecasting while providing insightful financial analysis to senior leadership  This position also involves managing key external relationships, including banks, auditors and tax advisors, as well as overseeing outsourced HR finance and HR functions. As the company continues to expand, this job opportunity offers substantial scope for professional development and career progression. 

Key responsibilities; 

  • Review of management accounts for the company and associated entities 
  • Treasury management 
  • Strategic support to senior leadership 
  • Budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
  • Revenue monitoring and project reporting 
  • Oversight of board reporting and financial governance
  • Administration of company benefits programmes
  • Management of outsourced partners 
  • HR system oversight and external contract management 

You will oversee a small team and mentor an Accountant going through professional studies.  The role will work closely with senior management to ensure the smooth financial operation of the business while contributing to its long-term growth and success. 

The Candidate

You will be a Qualified Accountant, ideally with experience of financial management within a high growth SME.  The ideal candidate will have strong stakeholder engagement skills and a clear ability to communicate financial information to non-finance people.  You will be a collaborative team player, willing to roll your sleeves up to get the job done.  Discretion, authenticity and confidentiality will be core values.  

Benefits and working hours

The role will be office based at the office location in city centre Dundee.  Working hours are 35 hours, Monday to Friday with an hour for lunch.  There is a flexible start/finish time policy and core hours are 10am - 4pm.
