Hutcheon Mearns have been exclusively appointed to support a leading company in the energy services sector to secure a new Finance Director. This role is ideal for a dynamic individual looking to advance their career within a renowned and respected organisation during a period of high growth.

About the Company

The company is a prominent player in the energy services industry, known for its commitment to excellence and innovation. As the company continues to expand, it seeks a Finance Director who will manage the finance function and contribute significantly to its success.

Main Job Function

The Finance Director will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the finance function and will be a key member of the Senior Management Team. The role involves managing the finance team to ensure the provision of timely, accurate, and value-adding financial information. The Finance Director will work closely with both the Division’s Managing Director and the Group CFO to achieve the company's and the Group's ambitions.

The Opportunity:

Financial Management

  • Overseeing all financial, tax, audit, operational finance, and funding matters
  • Managing the month-end process and preparing monthly accounts
  • Preparing annual financial statements and managing the annual budget setting process
  • Conducting quarterly reforecasts and reporting on financial factors influencing business performance
  • Ensuring robust financial systems and processes to minimize risk.
  • Liaising with UK auditors and tax advisors to meet deadlines.
  • Handling treasury management, including cash flow, interest rate, and foreign exchange hedging
  • Preparing and presenting monthly and ad hoc board reports.
  • Supporting the Group CFO with M&A and financial due diligence activities.
  • Assisting in the negotiation of group debt facilities

Team and Operational Management

  • Managing the finance team across all jurisdictions.
  • Overseeing payroll functions and employee benefits programs.
  • Developing and monitoring key performance indicators and business value drivers
  • Managing and developing IT software
  • Developing asset utilisation reporting

Background and Experience:

Qualifications and Skills

  • Qualified Accountant (CA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)
  • Exceptional numerical and analytical skills
  • Proven management track record
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in improving Management Information systems
