Credit Control Team Member (12-Month Fixed Term Contract)

An opportunity has arisen for a Credit Management Team Member to join our clients finance function on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management of customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of debt and maintaining compliance with agreed business processes. A key aspect of the role will be monitoring and reducing aged debt, minimising financial risk, and supporting accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage credit control activities for an allocated customer portfolio in line with established processes.
- Monitor and control the collection of debt, achieving targets for Total Debt, DSO, and Aged Debt.
- Support billing, credit management, and dispute resolution processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in the recognition and reporting of bad debt, including preparation of reserves.
- Process and allocate customer payments, maintaining unallocated cash levels in line with business requirements.
- Ensure all activity is accurately recorded to maintain a clear audit trail.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships across the finance team and wider stakeholder groups.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience in credit control/cash allocation is desirable; however this could be an ideal opportunity for somebody with debt recovery or general finance experience to develop a credit control career.
- Highly numerate, with strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and deliver to deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
- Flexible, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
