The Role: Business Advisory Assistant Manager (Aberdeen)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of clients, including year-end and management accounts, budgets, and forecasts.

  • Support and collaborate with the client engagement team to ensure deadlines and client expectations are met.

  • Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities to add value.

  • Take ownership of client accounting work from start to finish, liaising with other departments and ensuring timely delivery.

  • Undertake and oversee advanced technical work, produce detailed reports, and respond to client queries promptly.

  • Deliver specialist advisory and project work to a high technical standard, providing recommendations and clear options.

  • Maintain and develop technical knowledge, including researching new legislation and identifying opportunities for clients.

  • Participate in tenders and proposals for new work.

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of GAAP and accounting standards, particularly FRS 102 1A.


About You:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent).

  • Proven experience managing a client portfolio within practice.

  • Strong technical knowledge of compliance and advisory work.

  • Confident mentoring and supporting junior team members.

  • Experienced in cloud accounting and implementing client-driven solutions.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
