Opportunity Currently Available:

 

Audit Senior

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the senior management team to deliver audit and accounting services;
  • Responsible for the planning implementation and completion of a variety of audit clients and will be required to support other members of the audit team;
  • Visiting client sites to oversee the Audit including supporting junior team members and being responsible for complex file areas;
  • Communicate effectively with both junior members of the team and management, ensuring management receive appropriate information relevant to the audit;
  • Plan and complete audit assignments and ensure that all audits have the appropriate and sufficient documentation to support the opinion and to document all conclusions reached
  • Preparation of statutory financial statements from client data;
  • Assist with the development of more junior members within the team and ensure workload on audit is evenly distributed where appropriate to junior members of the team;
  • Manage and develop client relationships;
  • Complete all administration in a timely manner (including timesheets and fees) and to a high standard; and
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external regulatory requirements.

Required Experience:

  • ICAS / ACCA Qualified (or equivalent) minimum
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to build strong relationships
  • Experience of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, MS Outlook).
  • Experience in Xero/Sage/Quickbooks is desirable
  • Experience using CCH also desirable
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to quickly form professional relationships with colleagues and clients at all levels of seniority
  • Accurate and exceptional attention to detail
  • Flexible approach to work
  • Team player who deals effectively with colleagues and clients
  • Ability to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Strong organisational skills

 

Audit Assistant Manager / Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and developing a portfolio of clients as well as providing assistance and support to others within the firm
  • Taking responsibility for the effective communication with clients and colleagues
  • Ensuring assignments are completed within agreed budgets
  • Reviewing of work prepared by other members of staff
  • Ensuring that the firm’s quality control procedures are adhered to
  • Ensuring the firm’s professional standards are met
  • Ensuring that work is presented to the partner in a complete and finalised format
  • Ensuring that draft fees are prepared in a timeous manner
  • Providing an efficient and pro-active service to clients and ensure that the clients’ needs are fully met
  • Identifying technical issues as well as selling opportunities to Partners of the firm
  • Participating in tenders/proposals for new work as required
  • Developing work from existing clients by working closely with Partners and staff of the firm
  • Participating in wider marketing and business development activities for the development of the Skill Group and the wider development of the firm
  • Attending networking events, etc. and developing professional relationships with clients, others within the firm, and with other local professional firms and potential clients.
  • Paying attention to self-development and continuing professional education
  • Consulting with colleagues and Partners on technical and risk matters
  • To work as part of the management team and provide effective supervision to all members within the Corporate Services Skill Group
  • To support and work as a team player, whilst being able to work on own initiative
  • To assist in the provision of training to staff
  • To counsel, appraise, mentor, develop and motivate staff

Required Experience:

  • Professional qualification (CA, ACCA) or equivalent experience
  • Experience of key sectors such as Charities and Not-for-Profit organisations (advantageous)
  • Experience of managing and developing a client portfolio
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring colleagues
  • Good experience of business development

 

Audit Advisor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute planning and completion of audit work in line with internal processes and procedures and due consideration of resources and budget, with guidance
  • Take responsibility for planning, fieldwork and completion of audits, taking a key role in the audit team, managing delivery expectations and highlighting any issues at an early stage
  • Identify and undertake more complex audit areas during fieldwork stage, with guidance, and referring queries to more senior members of the audit team
  • Attend planning and clearance meetings, taking an active role the meeting preparation, contributing to discussion and answering queries where appropriate, both from audit team and client
  • Review draft accounts, issue to client and deal with any queries arising, with guidance
  • Demonstrate the ability to act as the client’s main point of contact on site during audit fieldwork, dealing with queries and identifying areas where other service lines could provide support
  • Manage work delegated to junior members of the team while still being responsible for overall delivery to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate an understanding of recoveries, quotes provided for work, lock up, scope creep and WIP
  • Initiate fee preparation and be able to undertake complex WIP analysis  

Required Experience:

  • A professional accountancy qualification – ACCA/ICAS or equivalent
  • Newly qualified or part qualified considered
  • Previous experience of working in a similar role
  • Experience of a client facing role
  • Strong communication skills – both written and oral
  • Ability to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines
