Hutcheon Mearns are delighted to be recruiting for an Assistant Accountant for our oil service company client. This is a full time, permanent position and will be based from our clients office in Kintore with hybrid working available. The Opportunity
The Assistant Accountant will be working to support multiple parts of the business. This will include accurate and timely reporting of financial information and reporting on the SOX controls on a quarterly basis. Other duties will include:
- Support with reporting responsibilities. This will include, amongst other activities, aging analysis, SOX reporting and variance analysis
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure the ledgers are in compliance with accounting regulations, company policies and reporting requirements
- Liaise with internal and external audit teams to support audit requirements
- Prepare monthly VAT reconciliations for review and submission
Background and experience
The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail, be able to use initiative and have excellent communication skills. The role would suit someone working in a similar role or an Accounting and Finance graduate with appropriate placement experience.
- Degree qualified with Accounting or Finance related degree
- Previous experience in an accounting role
- Experience in an engineering and/or manufacturing environment (desirable)
- Part-qualified ICAEW/ICAS/CIMA/ACCA (desirable)
