Accounts Receivable Lead - Transformation Role

Hutcheon Mearns are delighted to be supporting a global business to source an Accounts Receivable Lead to join their team in a key transformation role. This business is a trusted partner behind complex energy projects — delivering the expertise, equipment, and technology that keep operations moving seamlessly. The role will be based in Aberdeen with hybrid and flexibility on offer.

The Opportunity

This is a key management position which will drive transformation across the Accounts Receivable function. The role is highly visible across the group and will see the successful candidate developing relationships across the Group function, the senior leadership team, finance, treasury and operations. It requires an experienced individual with a high level of commercial acumen and a continuous improvement mindset. This role will also contribute to the wider finance team transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure kick off meetings are conducted following new contract awards, creating contract briefs highlighting specific risks, deliverables, remuneration and opportunities to assist. 
  • Assist project managers and engineers with understanding their commercial and financial responsibilities and deliverables
  • Ensuring invoices are accurately submitted in a timely manner
  • Review the sales accruals figures and agree actions with the business lines
  • Monitor outstanding debtors and ensure that any commercial problems are addressed, and that cash collection is optimised
  • Review of in contract CTR’s and quotations to ensure compliance with contract scope of work and remuneration clauses
  • Preparation of accurate internal and external contract cost reports, distributing and facilitating reviews with responsible project manager/engineer
  • Analysis of job margins against expected contracted margins and report to relevant project / operation manager any discrepancies
  • Continually review and refine company process and procedures, implementing improvements where applicable
  • Monitoring and reporting of spend against client purchase order values, highlighting when spend in reaching PO amount and engage with requesting PO amendments/revisions

 

Background and experience

The successful candidate will be an experienced senior finance professional with a track record of driving change, ideally within a global organisation. Strong leadership and relationship building skills are essential.

You will have excellent communication skills, be able to deal with pressure situations, and be able to adopt the concept of continuous improvement.
