Accounts and Payroll Coordinator

Hutcheon Mearns are delighted to be exclusively supporting our client in the oil services industry to recruit an Accounts and Payroll Coordinator on a full-time, temp to perm basis. The role will be based from our clients offices in Westhill.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and growing business in the energy sector, working closely with the Finance Director and wider team. The Accounts and Payroll Coordinator will play a key role in financial reporting and payroll management across both UK and US operations.

The Opportunity

The Accounts and Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for the preparation and reporting of weekly financial information and coordination of payroll processes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing weekly KPI updates and financial reporting
  • Coordinating offshore payroll inputs with HR & Crewing and liaising with external payroll providers
  • Reconciling payroll reports and preparing payments for approval
  • Acting as the main point of contact for payroll queries across Finance, HR and Crewing
  • Posting payroll journals, expenses journals and fixed asset entries
  • Preparing and processing the US payroll on a bi-weekly basis
  • Managing bank reconciliations, payments, revaluations and reporting balances to senior leadership and the parent company
  • Supporting the wider finance function with additional ad hoc tasks as required

Background and Experience

We are looking to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in an accounts support role
  • Strong skills in managing multiple priorities and working to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • High attention to detail, accuracy and strong analytical ability
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel

Experience in a project or contract-based industry and familiarity with financial systems such as Sun Systems would be advantageous.
